TPS GUEST WEBINAR – NANO-POLYMERS

TPS Guest Webinar – Thermal Transfer Composites

Thermal Transfer Composites uses their TPS 500 S instrument to measure thermal conductivity and specific heat capacity of their Al/SiC materials. The data they collect is used for R&D, spec sheets, and customer projects, and the TPS 500 S has been found to be an excellent method for their thermal characterization needs. – Presented by: Mike Casey, Engineering Manager, Thermal Transfer Composites

TPS WEBINAR- GENERAL THEORY

TPS Webinar – General Theory

An introduction to the Hot Disk TPS technique with background theory on the operation of the instrument, the use of the Hot Disk software, and also a look at different software modules and other accessories offered along with the Hot Disk. This webinar will provide a good introduction to how the instrument works and will give information about its variety of uses. – Presented by Michael Thomas

TPS GUEST WEBINAR – NANO-POLYMERS

TPS Guest Webinar – Nano-Polymers

A guest webinar presented by Sima Lashkari from the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of New Brunswick. This webinar entails the use of the Hot Disk TPS technique by Sima to measure the thermal conductivity of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) polymers with varying amounts of carbon nanotubes as filler. The goals, experimental results and outcome of Sima’s research are discussed. – Presented by Sima Lashkari

TPS WEBINAR – ANISOTROPIC POLYMERS

TPS Webinar – Anisotropic Polymers

This webinar takes a look at Hot Disk theory as well as investigations performed by a specific research group using the Hot Disk. The goal of the work outlined in this webinar was to increase the thermal conductivity of polymer composites by the addition of varying amounts of carbon fiber filler particles. Measurements using the anisotropic software module are correlated to results obtained using the guarded heat flow meter. – Presented by Michael Thomas

TPS WEBINAR – ANISOTROPIC POLYMERS

TPS Webinar – McGill University

A guest webinar presented by Edris Madadian , from the Biosource Engineering Department of McGill University. The webinar discuss the importance of heat transfer within a bio mass particle and use of the Hot Disk TPS to test the thermal conductivity of the very small particle samples. Presented by: Edris Madadian (PhD Candidate), McGill University

TPS WEBINAR – ANISOTROPIC POLYMERS

TPS Guest Webinar – University of Texas – Austin

A guest webinar presented by Mengqi Yuan , from the University of Texas – Austin. The webinar discuss the investigation of thermal characteristics of laser sintered polyamide powders using the Hot Disk Transient Plane Source (TPS) technique. Presented by: Mengqi Yuan

TPS WEBINAR – ANISOTROPIC POLYMERS

TPS Webinar – Western University

A webinar presented in collaboration with Western University. The webinar discuss high temperature measurement of thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity of bitumen samples. Presented by: Marco A. B. Zanoni

TPS WEBINAR – ANISOTROPIC POLYMERS

TPS Guest Webinar – Dr. Silas Gustafsson

A guest webinar presented by Dr. Silas Gustafsson , inventor of the Hot Disk Transient Plane Source thermal conductivity instrument. The webinar reviews various methods of thermal conductivity measurements and general theory of the transient disc and strip type thermal conductivity sensors. Presented by: Dr. Silas Gustafsson
