In this webinar, Thermtest’s Product Line Manager for the Transient Hot-Wire (THW) method will discuss the Thermal Conductivity of liquids using our in-house THW L-3 sensor.
The THW-L3 sensor is fully compatible with Thermtests MP-2 portable device. The sensor uses the Transient Hot-Wire method to measure the thermal properties of liquids and pastes. With a test time of 1 second, the sensor can accurately measure the thermal conductivity of a liquid by monitoring the temperature rise over time in the sample.
The MP-2 is a portable, lightweight handheld instrument that is compatible with a variety of sensors that perform simple and accurate measurements of thermal properties, in the field or the laboratory. The various primary sensors that are controlled by the MP-2 are designed to conform to the ASTM standard associated with the respective method.
Dr. Sofia Mylona is an internationally recognized expert in the area of thermal conductivity measurements using the Transient Hot-Wire (THW) method. She is a graduate Chemist from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.) in Greece and holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering in the same university. During her Ph.D., she designed and constructed a novel Vibrating-Wire Viscometer for measuring high-viscosity liquids for which she received the 1st Metrology award in Greece. In the last 7 years, Dr. Mylona’s research is focused on thermal conductivity measurements using the Transient Hot-Wire technique.
