Abstract: A series of melamine-formaldehyde microcapsules were synthesized using an in-situ polymerization and subsequently characterized for their thermal and structural properties. SEM and FT-IR were used to investigate the structural properties and DSC and TGA were used to investigate the thermal properties. The authors concluded that the thermo-physical properties of the microcapsules were related to the synthesis conditions and the core content of the capsules.
