Thermal Conductivity Paper Database

Thermtest has compiled the world’s largest thermal conductivity academic paper database. The research paper database is dedicated to the Transient Plane Source (TPS), Transient Hot Wire (THW), Transient Line Source (TLS), and Guarded Heat Flow Meter (GHFM). These techniques offer a wide range of applications, which is represented by more than 1000 papers represented in the database! Search academic papers below:

Enhancement of physical properties of electroactive polyimide nanocomposites by addition of graphene nanosheets

The thermal imidization method was used to prepare an electroactive polyimide/graphene nanocomposite (EPGN) material membrane. It was determined that the composites that were formed had improved mechanical strength, thermal stability, and thermal conductivity, as well as an improved dielectric constant and a decreased gas permeability in comparison to electroactive polyimide membranes....

Exfoliation and Characterization of Bismuth Telluride Atomic Quintuples and Quasi-Two-Dimensional Crystals

High-quality bismuth telluride crystals having a thickness of only a few atoms were prepared by a method similar to that for graphene mechanical exfoliation. The potential for these materials to be used as thermoelectric materials was then investigated. It was found that the properties of these materials could be fine-tuned by altering the thickness, or the sequence of atomic planes. “Stacked superlattices” were formed using these atomic films, and these ...

Graphene Thermal Properties: Applications in Thermal Management and Energy Storage

The authors present a review of the thermal properties of graphene, and present one example of a practical application of graphene in thermal management, as an additive to phase change materials. It was found that the use of liquid-phase-exfoliated graphene as a filler in phase change materials has potential to enhance the thermal management in high-power battery packs. The results also indicated that graphene had the ...

Novel slurry containing graphene oxide-grafted microencapsulated phase change material with enhanced thermo-physical properties and photo-thermal performance

This paper focuses on the creation of a new composite phase change material, paraffin-silica (SiO2)/graphene oxide (GO) through a two step process for potential use as a heat transfer fluid in direct absorption solar collectors. The resulting composite is composed of spherical capsules, and has the GO embedded within the SiO2 shell. Thermal conductivity testing with the TPS instrument revealed that the composites had excellent thermal characteristics and stability. ...

Thermoelectric behavior of aerogels based on graphene and multi-walled carbon nanotube nanocomposites

This paper proposes conducting carbon aerogels, composed of graphene and multi-walled carbon nanotubes, as an option for a thermoelectric material. The researchers found that this combination of materials increased the electrical conductivity and the Seebeck coefficient due to bridging effects, and decreased the thermal conductivity through high porosity and a uniquely structured 3-D skeleton. Atomic force microscopy and X-ray diffraction were used to quantify the physical structure of the aerogels. ...
