This study aims to use Boron Nitride (BN) materials as thermo-conductive fillers to enhance the heat transfer in fluids. For this study, BN nanotubes, and nanospheres were added to fluids, to test for individual thermal enhancements. With the addition of BN nanotubes to water, the thermal conductivity of the fluid was enhanced by 2.6 times. Also noted, was the increase in conductivity of the fluid with the addition of BN nanospheres. ...

In this article, researchers used the sol-gel method to create a thermally conductive phase change material (PCM), paraffin/silicon dioxide (SiO2)/expanded graphite (EG) composite. This PCM is composed of a supporting material, silica gel, and a thermally conductive material, expanded graphite. Thermal properties, such as conductivity and diffusivity were determined experimentally, and a differential scanning calorimeter was used to characterize the melting temperature and latent heat of the PCM. ...

The Transient Plane Source method was used in this research article to measure the thermal conductivity of an Ionanofluid, highly stable graphene (GE)-based nanofluid, at various temperatures. Researchers took special note of the effects of temperature, GE loading, presence of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), on the thermal conductivity of the nanofluid. Through experimental testing, it was determined that the nanofluid elicited a higher thermal conductivity, as compared to its ...

Boron Nitride filled epoxy composites are explored on a thermal and mechanical scale within this research article. Researchers took special interest in the effect of filler content, mixing conditions and Boron Nitride agglomerate size, on the thermal conductivity of the composite. Experimental results alluded to an increase in thermal conductivity, as filler content, and mixing speed, time and temperature increased. On the other hand, as the Boron Nitride agglomerate size ...

This research article delves into the thermal conductivity monitoring of open-cell foams. The foams are created through an intense procedure, in which slip reaction foam sintering is employed. Prior to measuring the thermal conductivities of the foams, a multiscale approach, taking into consideration the homogenization method, was used to predict thermal conductivity values. To obtain experimental results, the Transient Plane Source method was then used to determine the thermal conductivity ...
