Abstract: This paper studied in-depth the transient hot plate method, by comparing this method to others in order to develop a short test time in which thermal effusivity and thermal conductivity can be measured simultaneously. To investigate this proposed model, four metal samples were analyzed using various techniques to ensure the accuracy between methods. To encompass a wide thermal conductive range, the thermal conductivities of the four metal samples tested, ranged from 6 to 140 W/mK, and were of varying thicknesses.
