Abstract: The authors report the synthesis of a novel functionalized graphene sheet (FGS)/silicone porous nanocomposite with varying concentrations of FGS. The physical and thermal properties of the synthesized nanocomposites were studied in depth. SEM and TEM were used to elucidate the physical microstructure of the materials, and the transient plane source (TPS) technique was used to measure thermal conductivity. The nanocomposite showed an increased thermal conductivity as compared to the unfilled polymer, and TGA showed decomposition happening 50°C lower than the unfilled polymer.
