Porous mullite ceramics with low thermal conductivity prepared by foaming and starch consolidation

Using industrial grade mullite powder and a foaming and starch consolidation process, a series of porous mullite ceramics were prepared. These ceramics were analyzed by a thermal constants analyzer, and it was determined that the ceramics had low thermal conductivities and would make good thermal insulators. Temperature dependence of effective thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity of treated and untreated polymer composites

The thermal properties of a series of treated and untreated oil palm fiber-reinforced composites were tested at room temperature and atmospheric pressure using the TPS method. Microstructure and Thermal Conductivity of Hydrated Calcium Silicate Board Materials

Two calcium silicate boards of different densities, porosities and pore size were analyzed for their thermal properties, specifically thermal conductivity. The boards were heated from room temperature to 400°C and the thermal conductivity was monitored during this time.
