18th International Thermal Conductivity Conference Award Co-Winner 1983
Guy K. White is an internationally recognized expert in the field of low temperature physics. White worked at the National Standards Laboratory in Sydney, where he played a leading role in commissioning the first helium liquefier in Australia. He also produced the first edition of the influential text, Experimental Techniques in low Temperature Physics, which has been widely used and translated into several languages. In 1965, Guy White earned the Syme medal for his research on thermal capacity at low temperatures. Beyond his career, he is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics and the Australian Academy of Science, where he served as Vice-President in 1979, and is the Advisory Editor of the International Journal of Thermophysics. Since his retirement, Dr. White has written various standard reference articles on the thermal properties of solids.
