32nd International Thermal Conductivity Conference Award Winner 2014
Gernot Pottlacher studied physics at the University of Technology in Graz, Austria. He specializes in research on thermophysical properties of liquid metals and alloys using various methods, such as sub second pulse heating, Differential Scanning Calorimetry, and four-point probes. Pottlacher is a professor at the Institute for Experimental Physics at the University of Technology and teaches courses in basic physics for lighting engineering, as well as physics didactic courses for teachers in training. Additionally, Pottlacher heads the working group for thermophysics and metal physics, investigating with liquids and refractory metals. As a journal referee for the International Journal of Thermophysics, Pottlacher has published more than 100 scientific papers and has contributed 180 articles to scientific conferences.
