Abstract: With a goal of wider usage of renewable energy sources that are clean and sustainable, effective technologies, such as thermal energy storage (TES), play a vital role in storing thermal energy for future use. In this study, silver nanoparticles were dispersed in paraffin wax, eicosane, as phase change material (PCM). Thermal conductivity was measured following the transient method, using a Hot Disk TPS 500 Thermal Constants Analyzer with transient plane source technique. Thermal conductivity values increased with temperature, and when close to melting point, a sharp rise in thermal conductivity was observed.
