Abstract: High temperatures play a crucial role in the deterioration of the thermal properties of rocks and can threaten the structural integrity of many applications in engineering. This research focused on the variations in thermal diffusivity of sandstone after high temperature heating. Thermal properties of the samples were measured before and after heating using a thermal constants analyzer based on the Transient Plane Source (TPS) technique. Thermal diffusivity of the sandstone sample was found to decrease with temperature due to escaping of structural water.
