Abstract: It was found that the thermal conductivity of composite materials is enhanced by the simultaneous incorporation of dispersed pitch-based carbon fibers (PCFs) and graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs). This study investigated methods for optimizing thermal conductivity. A thermal conductivity analyzer was used to compare thermal conductivity of composites filled with PCF and/or GNP. Results show the values of thermal conductivity increased as the filler content increased, and a greater synergistic improvement in thermal conductivity of composites when PCF and GNP were incorporated together.
