Abstract: Researchers have developed an innovative processing route for producing microcellular cordierite ceramics within a three-step method. A) constructing ceramic-filled foams by heating a mixture of polysiloxane, expandable microspheres, talc, and alumina B) cross-linking the foamed body, and C) with the use of sintering, convert the body into microcellular cordierite ceramics.
