Abstract: This article explored the various characteristics of nanostructured pyrochlore La2Zr2O7 fibers. The thermal properties were measured using the transient plane source (TPS) method on a thermal anlyzer instrument at room temperature. It was found that the samples exhibited low thermal conductivities. It was observed that the thermal conductivity of the samples decreased with increasing silica content in the fiber. However, low thermal conductivities are desirable as they make the as-prepared fibers applicable in insulation materials at high temperatures.
