Abstract: Molten selenium, silver, cadmium, and tin were used to prepare a-Se, and a-Se98M2 (M = Ag, Cd, and Sn) alloys in order to determine the thermo-physical properties of these materials using the transient plane source technique. In order for these alloys to be used in industrial applications such as phase change optical storage, photo electrochemical solar cells, and holographic recording systems, among others, their thermal transport properties needed to be known. It was determined that silver as a chemical modifier increased the measured values for the thermal transport properties in comparison to a-Se more than cadmium and tin.
