Abstract: Zn-Se alloys have potential applications in blue light emitting diodes and blue diode lasers, as well as in white LEDs and infrared lenses. Se-In alloys have potential applications in solar cells due to their energy band gap, which is close to the optimum range for solar energy conversion. The thermo-physical properties of these two types of alloys have been investigated to further their applicability in industrial applications. The thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity, and specific heat of Se90Zn10, Se90In10, and amorphous selenium (a-Se) were measured using the transient plane source method.
