Abstract: The author reports on improvements to the transient plane source (TPS) technique which deal with increasing the maximum reliability of the measurements. Optimal time of measurement, sensor temperature measurement, and uncertainty of results are explored. The theory was confirmed by experimental measurements made on polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA).
