Thermoelectric Properties of Ca3xDyxCo4O9+d with x = 0.00, 0.02, 0.05, and 0.10

The low-temperature thermoelectric properties of Ca3-xDyxCo4O9+delta systems (x = 0, 0.02, 0.05, and 0.10). It was determined that these systems produced positive thermopower, indicating that the dominant carriers were holes. The electrical resistivity and thermal conductivity were found to decrease with increasing Dy3+ content, and the thermopower was found to increase. The highest calculated thermoelectric figure of merit was 0.044, and this was calculated for the Ca2.9Dy0.1Co4O9+delta sample....

Low-Temperature thermoelectric and magnetic characteristics of Ca2.9Bi0.1Co4−xFexO9+delta (0 < x < 0.10)

Thermoelectric materials are currently being researched as a source of energy in order to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. The efficiency of these materials depends on their Seebeck coefficient, electrical resistivity, and thermal conductivity, as well as the absolute temperature. Cobalt oxides (Ca3Co4O9+delta) have been researched extensively as potential thermoelectric materials because of their high Seebeck coefficient and low electrical resistivity and thermal conductivity. Systems have been studied ...

The Effect of Cu2O Nanoparticle Dispersion on the Thermoelectric Properties of n-type Skutterudites

This article studies the effect of dispersion of Cu2O nanoparticles on the thermoelectric properties of Ba0.4Co4Sb12 and Sn0.4Ba0.4Co4Sb12 skutterudites. It was found that the dispersion of these nanoparticles resulted in an increased thermoelectric efficiency due to decreased electrical resistivity and thermal conductivity. The figure of merit for Cu2O dispersed Ba0.4Co4Sb12 reached a maximum value of 0.92 at 573 K. This value represents a ...

Thermoelectric properties of n-type Ca(1-x)Bi(x)Mn(1-y)Si(y)O(3-delta) (x = y = 0.00, 0.02, 0.03, 0.04, and 0.05) system

CaMnO3 has been proposed for use in thermoelectric materials, due to its favourable thermoelectric properties. In this article, the effect of doping using bismuth and silicon to replace calcium and manganese respectively has been studied. Important properties of the doped compounds measured include thermopower, thermal conductivity, and electrical resistance. Different amounts of dopant are used, and it was determined that the compound Ca0.98Bi0.02Mn0.98Si0.02O3 has the highest ...

Improvement of the thermoelectric characteristics of Fe-doped misfit-layered Ca3Co(4-x)Fe(x)O(9+delta) (x=0, 0.05, 0.1, and 0.2)

Measurements were carried out to determine the electrical resistivity, thermal conductivity and Seebeck coefficients of a series of Fe-doped misfit-layered oxides (Ca3Co(4-x)Fe(x)O(9+delta) (x=0, 0.05, 0.1, and 0.2)). The thermal conductivity experiments were carried out using a Thermal Constants Analyzer via the TPS technique. XRD was also used to characterize the Fe-doped oxides. Overall, the transport properties of the Fe-doped oxides were studied and it was found that ...
