Abstract: The addition of rubber pellet to loess soil can improve the thermal property of loess and provide a potential frost barrier to road foundation. This study looks at thermal conductivity of unsaturated Granulated Rubber and Loess Soil Mixtures (GRLM) compacted at various densities and moisture contents. Thermal conductivity was measured using a Thermal Constant Analyzer using the Transient Plane Source method. Results found thermal conductivity decreased as the rubber content increased and increased as water content increased.
