Abstract: A series of Al2O3-water nanofluids were synthesized and their thermal conductivities were evaluated under different pH values and concentrations of surfactant (SDBS) using the Thermal Constants Analyzer. All the properties studied were found to have a strong effect on the measured thermal conductivity. By using the procedure listed in the report, the thermal conductivity of Al2O3-water nanofluids can be increased by 10% with the use of only 0.0015 wt. % Al2O3.
