Abstract: This study investigates the effect of water repellency on the thermal and electrical conductance of soils. A transient line source heating method and two-terminal electrode system was used to investigate the thermal and electrical conductivity of unsaturated hydrophilic and hydrophobic soils with known degrees of water saturation. A controlled drying process was used to carefully control the saturation.
