Abstract: New representative equations are put forth for the thermal conductance of n-hexane (C6H14) which are based on data that has been critically assessed for agreement with theory. The data was obtained through use of the thermal hot wire technique, among others. For the dilute gas case, a theoretically based correlation was used to extend the temperature range of the experimental data. Theory based equations well represent the observed increase of the thermal conductivity in the critical region. These correlations are applicable from the triple point to temperatures up to 600 K, and pressures up to 500 MPa with overall uncertainties less than 6%.
