Abstract: Research found tannins have been successful as monomers to produce organic foams with superior properties for thermal insulation. Norway spruce (Picea abies) tannins were extracted and used to prepare tannin/furanic foams. Thermal conductivity measurements were taken by transient plane source method. Thermal conductivity performance improved with higher closed-cell content in the foam.
