Facile fabrication of multi-walled carbon nanotubes and its enhancement on thermally conductive adhesive applied in heat dissipation devicesĀ

The purpose of this study was to develop adhesive epoxy resins that used multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) to enhance thermal conductivity and dispersion in the polymer matrix. An analyzer measured the thermal conductivity of the MWCNTs-based epoxy adhesives using the transient plane source (TPS) method. Results showed that the addition of MWCNTs improved the coefficient of thermal conductivity of the epoxy resin in comparison to pristine epoxy and epoxy (EP)...

Thermal conductivity and adhesion properties of thermally conductive pressure-sensitive adhesives

Thermally conductive pressure-sensitive adhesives (TC-PSA) are used in electronic devices and industrial applications. This paper examined how particle size, shape, and the addition of a coupling agent (GSP) affected the thermal conductivity of TC-PSA. A thermophysical properties analyzer measured the thermal conductivity of the particle-filled polymer using the transient plane source (TPS) method. Results showed that the thermal conductivity of the particles increased with diameter and aspect ratio, and the ...

Study on the thermal conductive polyoxymethylene/graphite composites

In this research article, the thermal conductivity of a polyoxymethylene (POM)/graphite composite was explored. This composite was prepared through an intense process of four intercalation methods; melt, solution, pan milling and in situ intercalation. Graphite is a thermally conductive material, and therefore, it was no surprise when researchers determined that the thermal conductivity of the POM composite increased with the addition of graphite. Thermal conductivity was also noted to ...

Effect of coupling agents on the thermal conductivity of aluminum particle/epoxy resin composites

In this research, the effect of four different coupling agents on the thermal conductivity of an aluminum particle reinforced epoxy composite, was studied. The results concluded that with an increasing concentration of aluminum particles in the epoxy, an increase in the thermal conductivity of the composite was noted. Prior to being treated with the coupling agents, the composites experienced a thermal conductivity reading of 1.03 W/mK. Post treatment, the thermal ...
