The Modified Transient Plane Source (MTPS) method is used to measure the thermal conductivity or thermal effusivity of solids. Using the interactive demonstration below, you can learn how to calibrate and test with the MTPS. Each reference material has been measured by an absolute method and values recorded. This range of four calibration materials covers a range of 0.2 W/mK to 4 W/mK.
