Thermal energy storage characteristics of Cu–H2O nanofluids

The ability of Cu-H2O nanofluids to perform as phase change materials (PCMs) is investigated. The supercooling behavior of the nanofluids was determined as a function of copper nanoparticle concentration. The contact angle and thermal conductivity of this PCM were also determined experimentally. Effect of pH and chemical surfactant on thermal conductivity enhancement of Cu-H2O nanofluids 

This study investigates the effect changing the PH of a copper nanofluid and sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate (SDBS) surfactant concentration has on the thermal conductivity of the nanofluid. The thermal conductivity was determined through the Hot Disk Transient Plane (TPS) method.
