Experimental study on anti-icing and deicing performance of polyurethane concrete as road surface layer

Deicing and anti-icing performance of an innovative polyurethane pavement surface layer that replaces asphalt binder was studied. Thermal properties of polyurethane concrete and asphalt concrete were measured using a Thermal Constants Analyzer with transient plane source (TPS) method. Results found that polyurethane concrete had similar thermal conductivity to asphalt concrete, but a much greater specific heat. Preparation and properties of carbon nanotube/binary-polymer composites with a double-segregated structure

Conductive polymer composites (CPCs) contain high concentrations of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) to maximize electrical conductivity. However, high nanoparticle concentrations degrade other important properties of CPCs. This study produced CPCs using ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fillers in place of CNTs in an attempt to maintain important physical and mechanical properties.
