Deicing and anti-icing performance of an innovative polyurethane pavement surface layer that replaces asphalt binder was studied. Thermal properties of polyurethane concrete and asphalt concrete were measured using a Thermal Constants Analyzer with transient plane source (TPS) method. Conductive polymer composites (CPCs) contain high concentrations of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) to maximize electrical conductivity. However, high nanoparticle concentrations degrade other important properties of CPCs.
