Measurement and model on thermal conductivities of carbon nanotube nanorefrigerants

The authors prepared a series of carbon nanotube (CNT) nanorefrigerants with varying size and amount of nanotubes to determine how these properties affect thermal conductivity. A TPS Instrument was used to measure thermal conductivity of the nanorefrigerants; R113 was used as a host nanorefrigerant. It was determined that higher concentrations of smaller diameter CNTs results in higher nanofrigerant thermal conductivity. A few theoretical models were also used to compare to ...

Experimental and Model Research on Nanorefrigerant Thermal Conductivity

Nanofluids and nanorefrigerants are relatively new materials used for a variety of purposes. Specifically, nanorefrigerants are investigated in this study and the authors wanted to devise a theoretical model that could be used to predict the thermal conductivity of nanorefrigerants and nanofluids both. By using the TPS technique the researchers were able to obtain experimental data for the thermal conductivities of a series of nanorefrigerants and through the use of ...
