Thermal Conductivity Paper Database

Thermtest has compiled the world’s largest thermal conductivity academic paper database. The research paper database is dedicated to the Transient Plane Source (TPS), Transient Hot Wire (THW), Transient Line Source (TLS), and Guarded Heat Flow Meter (GHFM). These techniques offer a wide range of applications, which is represented by more than 1000 papers represented in the database! Search academic papers below:

Synergistic improvement of thermal conductivity in polymer composites filled with self-hybrid expanded graphite fillers

In this study, expanded graphite (EG) was crushed and the resulting composites were filled with various amounts of EG using a melt-mix method. Thermal conductivity was then analyzed to investigate the possible synergistic enhancement through self-hybridization. Thermal conductivity was measured at an ambient temperature and normal pressure. Composites filled with 10 wt% EG and wEG fillers improved thermal conductivity, compared to composites containing one type of filler at 20 wt%....

Effect of ZnO nanoparticles obtained by arc discharge on thermo-mechanical properties of matrix thermoset nanocomposites

It has been found that ZnO nanoparticles modify the curing behavior and crossed-line density, among other properties, in epoxy systems. This study aimed at studying the thermo-mechanical properties of ZnO nanoparticles. Thermal properties were measured using a transient plane source technique (TPS) in a thermal constants analyzer. The addition of ZnO nanoparticles caused a decrease of the thermally resistant joints. Despite high thermal conductivity of ZnO-NPs, there was high thermal ...

Synergistic improvement of thermal conductivity in polymer composites filled with pitch based carbon fiber and graphene nanoplatelets

It was found that the thermal conductivity of composite materials is enhanced by the simultaneous incorporation of dispersed pitch-based carbon fibers (PCFs) and graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs). This study investigated methods for optimizing thermal conductivity. A thermal conductivity analyzer was used to compare thermal conductivity of composites filled with PCF and/or GNP. Results show the values of thermal conductivity increased as the filler content increased, and a greater synergistic improvement ...

Finite element modelling and experimental investigation on effective thermal conductivity of AIN (nano) particles reinforced HDPE polymer nanocomposites

In this study, effective thermal conductivity of nanocomposites containing thermally conductive aluminum nitride (AIN) nanoparticles reinforced with high-density polyethylene (HDPE) was investigated. Measurements were performed using a Thermal Constant Analyzer. The authors found that effective thermal conductivity of HDPE/AIN composites with 20 vol.% of AIN nanoparticles shows an enhancement by about 40%, compared to pure HDPE at 30°C....

Experimental evaluation and modeling of thermal conductivity of tetrafunctional epoxy resin containing different carbon nanostructures

Recently, 2-D graphene nanoparticles produced by graphite exfoliation are a promising nanofiller for enhancing the thermal conductivity of polymeric materials. Unlike one-dimensional structures of carbon nanotubes, the 2-D structure provides reinforcement of polymer nanocomposites in two directions. In this article, multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and 2-D exfoliated graphite (EG), in a tetrafunctional epoxy resin, are investigated to determine the effect on thermal conductivity. Thermal conductivity measurements were carried out using ...
