La conductividad t\u00e9rmica del suelo est\u00e1 directamente relacionada con la cantidad de humedad contenida en el suelo y depende en gran medida del contenido de agua, la composici\u00f3n dentro del suelo, la temperatura y la densidad aparente. Las curvas de secado se utilizan al enterrar l\u00edneas el\u00e9ctricas para garantizar que esas l\u00edneas el\u00e9ctricas no se sobrecalienten y, seg\u00fan el material probado, pueden determinar los aislantes comunes de los dep\u00f3sitos de gas y petr\u00f3leo.
