Thermal Conductivity Paper Database

Thermtest has compiled the world’s largest thermal conductivity academic paper database. The research paper database is dedicated to the Transient Plane Source (TPS), Transient Hot Wire (THW), Transient Line Source (TLS), and Guarded Heat Flow Meter (GHFM). These techniques offer a wide range of applications, which is represented by more than 1000 papers represented in the database! Search academic papers below:

Lightweight clay-based concretes formulated withwood aggregates: hygrothermal behaviour

Insulating materials were made from recycled clay waste using technologies developed by the author were tested for their thermal conductivity using the transient line source technique over a temperature range of 0-60°C. The clay used was mainly composed of kaolinite. A weight reduction was obtained by using wood aggregates. Different weight percentages of wood aggregates (0, 25, 30, 40, 50%) and the thermal conductivity curves are ...

Thermal properties of asphalt concrete: A numerical and experimental study

Asphalt concrete must often endure a range of different weather conditions, and its thermal conductivity is affected by these changes. Using the Finite Element Method (FEM), this paper develops a two-dimensional numerical model used to study and predict environmental effects and validates it through experimental results from the transient plane source method. It was also shown that an increase in the ratio of the TPS sensor size to the maximum ...

Thermal-physical properties of selected geomaterials: coal, sandstone and concrete based on basic series and parallel models

The purpose of this study was to look at the effective thermal conductivity (ETC) of coking coal, sandstone and foamed concrete existing in extreme thermal environments. Thermal-physical properties were measured under various conditions: fully water saturated, after saturation during air-drying, and oven-drying at 105°C. Results showed thermal conductivity increased with increasing moisture content, and sandstone had the highest mean thermal conductivity value of the three materials....

Experimental study on anti-icing and deicing performance of polyurethane concrete as road surface layer

Deicing and anti-icing performance of an innovative polyurethane pavement surface layer that replaces asphalt binder was studied. Thermal properties of polyurethane concrete and asphalt concrete were measured using a Thermal Constants Analyzer with transient plane source (TPS) method. Results found that polyurethane concrete had similar thermal conductivity to asphalt concrete, but a much greater specific heat. Polyurethane was also found to have a better anti-icing and deicing performance compared to ...

Preservation of Sand and Building Energy Conservation

Concrete and sand that were replaced by coal bottom ash concrete were analyzed and compared for strength and heat conductivity. Thermal conductivity was measured using an instrument, based on the Transient Plane Source technique. When the samples contained 40% replacement coal, the thermal conductivity value was reduced by 35%, for 60% replacement the thermal conductivity value was reduced by 36.5%, and for 100% replacement, thermal conductivity was reduced further to around 51%....
